Conservation of Objects

Sculptures, objects, and furniture can vary greatly in complexity and material, but when they are delicate, historic, or of the sentimental value it is important to care for them correctly. Domestic cleaning methods are often unsuitable and can cause irreversible damage. To remove dust, which can be visually disruptive and harmful to the object, we employ museum-approved cleaning techniques. See ‘Deep Clean’ for more on methodology.

We tailor our techniques to the sculpture or object and have cared for a variety of materials including; metals (silver polishing), metal, stone, wood, gilding, books, glass, and ‘Chandeliers and lighting’.

If the needs of a sculpture or an object go beyond needing a careful clean, we are able to make recommendations for specialist Conservators who can undertake a full treatment and repair.
